We are a Church that Loves God, and we want to serve others and share our story.

The Fairview Baptist Church was organized in a special meeting held September 25, 1935 at the Cloud Springs Baptist Church of Rossville, Georgia. In counsel with pastors and deacons of sister churches of like faith and order, the Fairview Missionary Baptist Church was established with seven charter members including Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Bennett, Mrs. C. M. Gayton, Mrs. Ellen Hatfield, Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Thacker Sr. and Mr. H. T. Youngblood. In conference in October 1935, Mr. and Mrs. E.E. Thacker Sr. donated the property for the first church building. The first service was held in the building on Easter Sunday, 1937. The first pastor, Rev. W. W. McElroy, was elected in June 1937 and served untill August 1937, when Rev. E. Dale Godrey was called as pastor. In June 1940, the church voted to call Rev. J. G. Blassingame as the third pastor. Rev. Steele was called to lead the church. The first service in the completely finished auditorium was held on Homecoming Sunday, the third Sunday in October 1955. In September 1957, the church called Rev. Ernest J. Kelly Jr. as pastor. To expand the total program of the church, in August 1962, the Fairview Baptist Church Kindergarten was organized to fill the need for a well-rounded preschool Christian training program for children of the community. Upon completion of the building program in the summer of 1964, the auditorium and education wing were dedicated on August 30, 1964. In 1965, the church called Rev. Floyd Moates as pastor. In 1967, the church called Rev. Carroll Phillips as pastor. In November 1970, the church called Rev. J. Broadus Marlow as pastor. In January 1974, the church called Rev. Jim McPherson as pastor. In March 1984, the Church began broadcasting the church service on UCTV, Cable 3 TV. A steeple was erected in October 1988. In November 1991, the church called David Pickard as pastor. FROM THE PASTOR... Our church is so awesome! We are having a great time at church. Vacation Bible School was amazing. It was one of the largest we have had in several years. Thanks to all that helped out. You are amazing people of God, and your service will be rewarded in heaven. The yard sale for Africa missions was beyond all expectations. It was one of the largest yard sales that has ever been held here at the church. Beth and I are very grateful for your gifts, encouragement and prayers. Thank you for supporting us. There will be an ice cream social right after church this Sunday night. Please bring your favorite ice cream or dessert. The fish fry is coming up on Friday, July 26th, starting at 5 p.m., and going until we run out of fish. We hope you can make it. The youth are going to a kickboxing lesson and Cici’s pizza on the 27th of July. They will be leaving the church at 11:00 a.m. and returning around 3 p.m. This is a free trip thanks to those who are giving up their time to make this happen. Also the Youth are planning an end of summer trip to Splash Country. I love our church and I we are having a great time serving the lord and His people in the community that we live in. May God be with you. In Christ’s love, Brother Jim P.S. Come to Sunday school and church this Sunday! You don't want to miss it.
